JB Wrought Iron has a very simple approach to architectural metalwork.
It must always add value to a property and to do so it needs attention to detail. The only way architectural
metalwork can add value is by being well designed, well made and correctly installed.

Our History
JB Wrought Iron is a second generation, family owned business with a 65 year history in architectural
metalwork.
We are the only Australian member of the National Heritage Ironwork Group (NHIG).
JB Wrought Iron mainly works in the following areas of Sydney: Upper and Lower North Shore, Northern
Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, City and Inner Suburbs of Sydney. However, depending on the size of the
project, we will consider work in all suburbs of Sydney as well as country areas.
Our People
Transforming ideas to reality requires great people. JB Wrought Iron draws upon a team of specialist
contractors and associates. JB Wrought Iron has built up a network of people with expertise in a wide
range of specialities. These specialists include an architect, engineers, CAD drafters, designers, pattern
makers, foundry men and blacksmiths as well as boilermakers and site installation specialists. In addition
to these industry specialists, we have a network of associated trades such as locksmiths, gate automation
experts, stonemasons and electronic security technicians.

Bethan is our UK based authority on heritage architectural metalwork. Her skills
include; blacksmithing, 3D design, CAD drawing and designing both period
style and contemporary work. Bethan was involved in the establishment of a
Conservation Principals for Heritage Forged and Cast Ironwork as well as
developing and running the first Blacksmith Conservator training course in the
UK. Bethan has been involved in the conservation of ironwork on some iconic,
heritage listed UK and Australian buildings.
BETHAN GRIFFITHS
JB Wrought Iron founder and Director, John Bransby has over 35 years’
experience in architectural metalwork. He has trade qualifications in metal
fabrication and has blacksmithing experience. John has a diploma in Project
Management and has provided expert witness reports for Courts. With
extensive industry connections, John can find the right people for every project.
JOHN BRANSBY
Master heritage blacksmith, Dave Fleming, is one of the few blacksmiths
working in Australia that has a deep understanding of heritage conservation
work and principles. Dave is passionate about his blacksmithing and has
enormous appreciation of traditionally made heritage metalwork. Dave has
extensive experience working in the UK and Europe under the guidance of
master blacksmiths. He has also been involved in some well known Australian
conservation projects, including the Dawes Point Railings around Sydney
Harbour.
